This policy explains what Bubbles collects, why, and what you can do about it. Your baking data stays on your phone. Optional accounts and ads are the only things that involve a server or a third party.
Your starters, feedings, bakes and notes never leave your phone. You can use Bubbles completely as a guest. If you create an account, we store only basic account details on Firebase. If you choose to watch ads or opt in to banner ads, Google AdMob may collect advertising-related data as described below. We do not sell your personal data.
1. Who is responsible
Bubbles is an independent app. For any privacy question, contact makarbsaleh@gmail.com.
2. What Bubbles stores on your device
The following is kept in a local database on your phone and is not uploaded to any server:
- Your starters, their names, jars, feeding schedules and history
- Feedings, discards, bakes and planned bake sessions
- Recipe unlock status, ad preferences, achievements, settings and preferences
This data is removed when you uninstall the app. You can export it at any time from Settings → Back up, and that export stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
3. Optional account data stored on a server
Creating an account is optional. Bubbles is fully usable as a guest. If you sign in with Google or a verified email address, the following may be stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore):

No baking data, photos, contacts or precise GPS location are stored on a server.
4. Advertising data
Bubbles contains optional ads through Google AdMob. Ads are not shown to Bubbles Pro users. For free-tier users:
- Rewarded ads can optionally unlock additional starters or recipes for a limited time
- Banner ads are off by default and only shown if you opt in
When an ad is shown, Google AdMob may automatically collect and share data such as:
- Approximate location (inferred from IP address)
- App interactions (such as ad views and taps)
- Diagnostic information (such as app performance data)
- Device or advertising identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID)
This data is used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google processes it under its own privacy policy. See Google's privacy policy and AdMob's data disclosure.
You can reset your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads) and manage ad personalization in your Google account settings.
5. Service providers
- Google Firebase — optional account sign-in, email verification, and Pro entitlement storage. See Firebase's privacy information.
- Google AdMob — optional ads as described above.
- Google Play — app distribution only. Bubbles does not process in-app purchases in this version.
6. What Bubbles does not do
- No selling of personal data
- No email marketing — you only receive account emails you asked for, such as email verification or password reset
- No forced full-screen or app-open ads
- No upload of your baking history, starter data or notes to any server
7. Your rights and data deletion
You can access, export or delete your data at any time.
- Delete your account: in the app, Settings → Your account → Delete account. Or follow the steps on the account deletion page.
- Delete your local data: Settings → Reset all data, or simply uninstall the app.
- Export your data: Settings → Back up, which produces a JSON file you keep.
- Ad-related data: managed by Google. Reset your advertising ID in Android settings and review your Google ad personalization settings.
If you are in the UK, EEA or another region with data protection law, you also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
8. Children
Bubbles is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Security
All communication with Firebase and ad services is encrypted in transit. Access to account records is restricted by server-side security rules so that an account can only read its own record.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app will tell you. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
